France has held civil society participation meetings once a month since December 2010 with the National Committee for Rio+20 (led by the International Affairs Ministry and Sustainable Development Ministry). These meetings have included NGOs, trade unions, local authorities, scientific experts, and leaders from business and agricultural industries.
Has your country completed a sustainable development review?
France's National Committee for Rio+20 published approximately 60 actors booklets (local authorities, business, NGO, trade unions) in order to review sustainable development actions in the field and allow for better information-sharing between the stakeholders.

France highly supports the reinforcement of the international environmental governance through the creation of the United Nations Environment Organization.
France also supports the Sustainable Development Goals and a better civil society participation at all levels of governance.
What other major activities are happening in your country at the subnational, corporate, and civil society levels for Rio+20?
French Local Authorities drafted a declaration for Rio+20, and civil society actors (NGO, trade unions and citizens movements) created a special platform to follow Rio+20, the Collectif RIO+20. The platform has two main goals : advocacy (linking social, environmental and economical pillars) and mobilization. Business and local authorities also created a platform called Club France.
