Morocco has undertaken a process of consultation – a national chart - on environment and sustainable development, which has been operationalized, and is currently finalizing a framework law and preparing for a national strategy on sustainable development. The strategy will adapt to the outcomes of Rio+20.
Is your country planning on announcing new initiatives at Rio?
Morocco plans to do a side event to present a white paper on sustainable development and progress made by Morocco from 1992 on sustainable development, highlighting green economy initiatives especially in the energy sector on renewable energy
What is your vision for success at Rio+20?
Ambitious commitment of the international community regarding the environment and sustainability
CBDR will be upheld as well as equity
Developed countries must take responsibility to take the lead on sustainable development
